Collection: Oscar Perress

Oscar Perress' practice is a non-intentional, explorative practice. 

He crafts an array of objects from an ever changing and expanding collection of materials, with a current tendency towards wax and fine metals.

There is no inherent meaning behind his collection of objects, individually or collectively. How it is used or conceptualized is entirely dependent its secondary perception, the possessor’s use of the item or the expression they create using the item is, to Perress, where the works attain meaning, if they are to attain meaning.

There is no prioritisation of aesthetics, nor function. Nor is there an endeavour to find a balance between either.

It is not a process of conveying knowledge, ideals or thought to others, nor is it a practice of refined or technical process. What is made is made, not for any necessary reason nor for any specific outcome.
