The final result is important but equally is the process, the time spent making. Her hope is that the finished work establishes a rapport with the viewer. 'I'd like the work to hold you, just for a moment, long enough that you stop and pause'.

Day's work is about connections; whether it is a connection with ourselves, with the object, with nature or between the artist and the viewer.
