Collection: Kristen Lindesay

Kristen Lindesday was born in Sydney, Australia 

She graduated from UNSW Art & Design (previously College of Fine Art) with a degree in Fine Art majoring in textiles in 2008. Kristen moved to New Zealand with her husband Alex and son Remy in 2020. She currently lives in Titirangi, Tāmaki Makaurau. 

 Inspired by the tension between soft and steady, humble and mystical, familiar and obscure, my work for 'Under Time' explores the exchange between the tangible and intangible.

For this show, I have chosen to respond to Alex's imagery, bringing forth another layer, experimenting with reinterpreted 'landscapes' by deconstructing antique kimono and reworking in an intuitive way that plays with drapery, form and what is concealed / revealed.
