박성환 Sung Hwan Bobby Park is an artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau.
He is the 2023 recipient of The Arts Foundation Springboard award and some recent works from his installation ' BTM 제사상 Ancestor Rite Table' at Studio Toi Tu have been acquired by the Auckland Museum.
He has exhibited in solo and group shows across Aotearoa since first working with clay in 2016 and has quickly established his signature art forms and unique point of view. Through his clay works, he expresses the experience of being queer in the Korean military as well as exploring this modern time, where there is freedom to be himself. His Smoke Scape series symbolises being Asian through meditative ritual and the importance of individuality.
