Bespoke shoes by 6x4
Hand dyed open-toed clogs with recycled pine soles. Waxed nubuck uppers and cushioned suede insole. Rug rubber outsoles.
The artist made the wooden soles for these shoes while he was at art school. He was fascinated by shoemaking but didn't have any understanding of how it worked first. He desperately wanted to make shoes so He started by making wooden clogs soles out of offcuts from the woodwork shop and attaching them to second hand shoes with the heels cut off. This was around the time when he was learning how to sew by taking apart, altering, and reassembling second hand clothes.
Since then He have learnt a lot more about shoemaking from his dear friends @shoe_school and @lashoemaker_bespoke.
He was happy to be able to remove, rework, and reuse these wooden soles that He made in 2011 at the beginning of his shoemaking journey, giving them another life in this pair of mules.
