Muriwai Pōhutukawa Stool - Muriwai #20, #21 or pair
Veronique Desmet is a Belgium artist currently living in New Zealand.
These pieces are made of mature pohutukawa. The wood was collected by the artist from the property she was living on. Each part of the stool has been burned separately in an open fire, and then assembled. A strong relationship with nature is fondamental to the artist creative process. Her working rhythm, materials, quality of finish, and place for creation are all linked with nature. These are unique pieces, conceived and realised by the artist. Made: Mature pohutukawa (rare), endemic to NZ. Natural oil, made in NZ. Approx. size: Handcrafted in Muriwai, New Zealand Product care: Occasional cleaning with a lightly damp cloth is all that it requires, although you may want to wipe the piece down with a light neutral oil from time to time
This is a unique piece, conceived and realised by the artist.
